HAPPY THANKSGIVING! I've been baking now for two days and anxiously awaiting my two boys arrival today. Happy Day! I hope everyone has a lovely day with family and friends. I will be having a sale this weekend at Havana Beads. Use coupon "THANKS12" to receive a 15% discount on your entire purchase. Make sure to type the coupon in when you see your Etsy invoice so it automatically discounts the invoice. ENJOY!
I can't believe it's almost a month since my last post! I've been so busy with special orders and getting inventory ready for the studio that time just flew by. I also took a little road trip to Kentucky with my hubby. When you live in South Florida every road trip is a very, very long road trip! Anyways, most of the trip was spent in the car since this was right before hurricane Sandy and the weather turned pretty ugly on us. On our way back we stopped in Chattanooga, Tennessee, Lookout Mountain and I saw the most amazing tree. Please remember this is a very, very rare site for me!
I've had a busy week working on special orders for customers and trying to come up with new beads and headpins to post on Etsy. The studio is still really slow but I think slowly people are coming down from up north for the season. I'm trying to remember to put the name of the bead set or headpin set on the first picture of my listing. I think this might help my customers when they request sold items from my Etsy store. Here are some pictures.
These headpins were published in the 101 Bracelets, Necklaces and Earrings Issue this year. My Friend Cherrie Fick from En Lalumiere made a beautiful pair of earrings with these.
This bead fits the Regaliz leather and has an oval hole.
This one is also for the Regaliz leather and has an oval hole.
The winner of the pair of Mouse with Little Red Bow headpins is Kym Hunter of Kym Hunter Designs. Congratulations! Send me your address at firstname.lastname@example.org and I'll put these in the mail next week.
I've continued this week to create beads with a Fall influence. I made two more headpins with the rustic leaves and some little rustic pumpkins as well. Here are some pictures of new posts on Etsy.
Little Rustic Pumpkins
These two rings are great as links or even to use in a lariat necklace
I just love to decorate for fall. I love the oranges, rust, browns, pumpkins, fall leaves, etc. So I went through my fall decorations storage boxes and set off this weekend to warm up my home. Unfortunately, it's 90 something degrees outside! A girl can dream, can't she. So with fall thoughts in mind I've been working on some new headpins. Here are some of the new designs.

Last weekend was the Intergalactic Bead show in Pompano Beach, Florida. I had a wonderful show! Thank you ladies for coming by and saying hello and even bringing me snacks to keep me going. You guys are amazing! I also had a little giveaway during the show and the name I picked out of the basket was, Athena Defeo. Congratulations!
You wouldn't believe who I met at the show! I was so excited when I saw her name posted as one of the vendors for the show. I got to meet Joan Miller of Joan Miller Porcelain. If you haven't seen her work please head over to her Etsy shop and take a look. The detail of her pieces will blow you away. I fell in love with a Dragonfly focal of Joan's and she was so gracious as to trade beads with me. This is the beautiful piece I received.
Can you believe the details! I love my dragonflies!
I worked on some new things this week for the Etsy shop. I had several special orders I had to finish this week so I worked on those first. Here are some new things I posted.
This was a special set for a customer which has sold but I can make more as a special order. I do have another acorn currently listed on Etsy. I had a pair of the Sahara beads listed but those sold.
Sand Dollar Set
I've been making lots of large hole beads to fit the Pandora, Biagi, Etc. bracelets lately. I know some customers are just sliding them through leather or chain to finish a simple necklace.
This is a Regaliz Leather bead called Aztec Treasures.
These are large hole slider beads. I like to use these to slide over finished Viking Knit bracelets or necklaces. The work great as links, over thick leather, ribbon, etc. The hole is approx. 7mm
I had some customers come into the studio during the season looking for beads to fit through their own hoops. The bead used for the Pandora Style beads was a little too big and heavy to use so I came up with these little bead sets to embellish your own hoops. I call them "HOOP LOOPS". I'll have different colors and styles posted on Etsy. Here are just a couple of the colors.
This was a special order for one of my wonderful Etsy customers this week. I don't do much encasing these days but I do love how they turned out.
A LITTLE GIVEAWAY
