If you're reading this and you're going through something like this with a beloved friend, companion who loves you unconditionally, don't give up when the vet gives you an estimate and you know you're not able to pay for it. I found out I could give her care at home from the internet not the vet. It's not possible for every situation but still do some research and if you think you might be able to care for them yourself give it a try. I actually called the vet the following day after learning the diagnosis and asked him could I do the things I researched at home, and he said yes.

MERRY CHRISTMAS

I so understand about vet bills. We're facing a $1600 one right now, but in the long run, we should save money since his medication is about $800/year. He goes in on the 3rd for his radiotherapy, and after that (and four days away), he should never have to take the meds again, and should be able to gain his weight back.
ReplyDeleteWe did a lot of research on the medication, too -- found a place online that was a lot cheaper than getting it from the vet.
I hope Misty is feeling better- I have had a sick Boston Terrier all day but I think it was something he ate- its hard when pets get sick.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for your comments. Sometimes you feel like you're the only one going through this type of thing. Unfortunately, on December 23rd my little girl lost her struggle and had a heart attack. She has had a heart murmer for many years now and her heart couldn't deal with the infection. I have such sadness in my heart I can hardly bear it.
