KEY TO MY HEART

I just love this treasury, Key to My Heart. Go here to link to different Etsy vendors.  I love anything with keys, love, and red!  My "Modern Romance Necklace is included in this treasury.  The little silver box has a little "I Love You Note".  I love the red key racks, with love and the one with the key, so very cute!

Enjoy your day,

YOU CAN BE A STAR!

I'm not kidding, yes you can!  Last year one of my wonderful friends Jenny called me and told me, yes she told me, you have to enter this years "Bead Star" contest.  Of course I said no way, not me, what will they think, do you think they'll like my jewelry, I don't know.  I gave myself every excuse there could possibly be.  Anyways, to make a long story short I entered three necklaces.  I figured if they didn't pick them, I could just sell them.  Well one of my necklaces was picked as a finalist. My wonderful customers, friends, family and others voted for my necklace and I won Honorable Mention in the Heart Category.  Wow, I can't tell you the feeling one gets when the magazine is delivered to your home and you see your creation in print!  I hope that everyone that is reading this and hasn't tried to enter one of their creations gives it a try this year.  By the way I sold the other two necklaces within a few months so no loss there.  Here is the link with all the rules for the 2011 competition Bead Star 2011.  Don't be chicken, ENTER!

Colors of My Love

I donated my necklace to the American Heart Association's Women's Heart-Health Initiatives, and it will be Auctioned at the Bead Fest Santa Fe Silent Auction, March 10-13, 2011.

HAPPY NEW YEAR

I hope everyone is having a great start to the new year!  Dave and I took a little trip (7 1/2 Hours) to Macon, Georgia last week for some rest and relaxation.  We arrived to a welcoming 39 degrees which is way too cold for me.  You Northerner's would die laughing if you saw how many layers of clothing I wore when I was there.  I couldn't get warm no matter how many layers I wore.  We did enjoy our trip and I brought home some pics to share.  These are mostly of the Macon down town area which I found very charming.

Love this home!  It's very narrow but extremely charming.

The architecture here is magnificent!

Best Wishes to all for 2011!

MERRY CHRISTMAS

Just wanted to leave a little post to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas! I've made a couple of things lately for the two Etsy stores that I'd like to share, but not much. I have a very sick dog at home which I have become nurse to. She has pancreatitis and kidney problems so I've been giving her meds and fluids with a needle. Can you believe it nurse Raida, who would have known. It was either try at home or $3,000.00 in Vet hospital stay which I don't have to spend and they couldn't guarantee that she would get better. She's slowly getting better but we're just taking it one day at a time since she's 11 years old.

If you're reading this and you're going through something like this with a beloved friend, companion who loves you unconditionally, don't give up when the vet gives you an estimate and you know you're not able to pay for it.  I found out I could give her care at home from the internet not the vet.  It's not possible for every situation but still do some research and if you think you might be able to care for them yourself give it a try.  I actually called the vet the following day after learning the diagnosis and asked him could I do the things I researched at home, and he said yes.

Susan Lewis New Release DVD

I had the opportunity this Friday to meet Susan Lewis and see some of her beautiful PMC work.  I took some pictures to share.

From Left to right, me, Susan Lewis, Amy (Store Owner)

Sorry about the jewelry pictures, the pieces where under Plexiglas and I got a lot of reflective light.  The necklace in the center is magnificent.  All the silver beads are PMC.

She makes the most magnificent boxes.

All of the pieces in the front are boxes, even the one with the bunny.

The DVD to the left is her first DVD and the one in the middle is her new release.  You can go here to purchase her DVD's.  Metalwork-Metal-Clay-Hollow-Forms-DVD.html, Metalwork-Metal-Clay-Basics-DVD.html.  These are Interweave DVDs.
